Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN ALFRED ANGUS BEARDY May 13, 1923 - January 9, 2003 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of John Alfred Angus Beardy, of Winnipeg, MB, formerly Little Saskatchewan, on January 9, 2003 at the age of 79 years. John is survived by his daughter Ida of Toronto, ON; his sons, Robert Shorting of Fairford and Hubert of Berens River; his nephews, Robert (Marie) McKay of Little Saskatchewan and Charlie (Flora) McKay of Little Saskatchewan; his niece Isabel (Adolf) of Swan Lake, MB; as well as other relatives. John was predeceased by his wife Mina (nee Shorting) and by his mother Elizabeth. John was born in Pine Falls, MB. In his early days he moved to Dauphin River where he began fishing. He also spent time in Little Saskatchewan. In 1942 he began to travel and work at various locations throughout the province. John enjoyed horse racing on different reserves during treaty day, and often won his races. John settled in Winnipeg where he resided until his passing. His Weary Hours and Days of Pain His weary hours and days of pain, His troubled nights are past. And in our aching hearts we know, He has found sweet rest at last. A wake service will be held on Sunday, January 12 at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 13 at 2:00 p.m. Both services will be held at the Little Saskatchewan Pentecostal Church, Little Saskatchewan, MB.
