MARY EUNICE McKAY LEDGER 1903 - 2003 Mary, the wife of the late Cecil John Ledger, died in the early morning hours of January 10, 2003 at the age of 99 years. Mary was born in Inverness, Scotland on July 5, 1903, the eldest child of Charles and Eunice Ross. She lived in Winnipeg during her early years, returned to Inverness from age 10 to 16, and then spent most of her remaining life in Winnipeg. She brought a great deal from her life in Scotland and combined that past era into her life in Canada. Her career as a stenographer began after attending Business College, where she met Cecil. She worked for many years at the Canadian Wheat Board. Mary was always active and energetic, enjoyed spending time with her family and was devoted to Cecil, to her two sons, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and to her sisters families. Her passion for correspondence kept her in touch with many friends and relatives in Canada, the United States, Scotland and New Zealand. She was a longtime member of St. Georges Crescentwood Anglican Church and kept active in many church activities. She enjoyed involvement with the Canadian Club. Her son Charles, her son Jack and his wife Pat, seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and her sister, Eunice, survive her. All her family will sadly miss her. Her husband predeceased her as did her sisters, Kirsty, Katherine, Anne, Emily and her brother Charles. The care and support she received at the Poseidon Care Centre is most appreciated by Marys family. Many friends visited her regularly and those visits were a source of comfort to Mary. If desired, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of your choice. A celebration of Marys life will be held on Saturday, January 18 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Georges Crescentwood Anglican Church, 168 Wilton St. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: EDWARD J.
