SUSAN WATTY With much sadness the family announces the passing of Susan Watty on January 1, 2003 at the Holy Family Nursing Home. Coming from a large family of seven sisters and three brothers, Susan was predeceased by all except one brother, Alexander Perrin (Stella) of Brandon. She was also predeceased by her husband Ernie in 1964 and son-in-law Bill Koch in 2001. Left to mourn her passing is her only child, Gloria Koch; granddaughter Pamela Koch (Scott Wotherspoon and his daughters, Kasia, Sachelle and Teagan), Kelly Koch (Darrell Peters) and great-granddaughter Madison Wotherspoon, as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. Susan was a stay-at-home mom and enjoyed cooking, kept a meticulous house and was accomplished at knitting and sewing her own clothes. Her greatest love was gardening and the times spent during the summer months at the family cottage at Caddy Lake. When her husband passed on suddenly in 1964, Susan left her home in Kenora and moved back to Winnipeg to be close to her daughter. She was an important part of our family and played a major role in our lives. Susan was very independent, generous and kind hearted. She loved animals and over the years provided a loving home to several stray dogs and one very spoiled cat. The last few years were spent at the Holy Family Nursing Home where she was blessed with loving caregivers that our family came to appreciate more than words can say. To all the wonderful staff at St. Pauls, thank you for all your kindness and compassion during a very difficult time. A private family service has taken place. Though absent, deep in our hearts you are always near.
