Dad left us to join his mother Mary (Stogran) and father John. Dad leaves to cherish his memory his wife Jean; sons, Rick (Sheila) and their children, Michelle and Crystal; Don and his children, Jennifer, Judy, Summer and Jacklyn; daughters, Judy and her children, Michael, Glenn and Craig; and Carol (Randy) and their children, Randy Jr., Sean, Andrea and Breanne. Poppa is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Joey and Joslyn and Andy and Brendan. He also leaves two sisters, Ollie (Alec) and Jean; and many nieces and nephews. Dad proudly served overseas in the Signal Corps during the Second World War. After serving his duty, he started with the CNR as a conductor, working in the The Pas, Dauphin and Kamloops. After 40 years of service he retired in 1980 in the Okanagan Valley. Dad was an avid golfer and played in many Pro-Am tournaments. He was always willing to help and pass on tips to others. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family. Dad was a very kind and gentle soul. We were blessed to have him as a husband, father and friend. A private family service was held and cremation followed. Donations may be made in honour of Dad to the Canadian Cancer Society, MB Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7, or call 774-7483.
