MARK ERNEST HOWARD After a brief illness, on Saturday, January 11, 2003 at the Selkirk General Hospital, Mark Howard, aged 43 years of Selkirk. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his children, Nicole and Alex and their mother Sharlene; his sister Shawn and her children, Jesse and Kaylea; step-father Ray Thornson; Myles and Sharon McManus; Mary and John Fial; Lauren and Ken Kembel and family; Eleanor McManus; Lawrence, Jack and Todd McManus; fiance Laurel and lifelong friend Frank Gnitzinger. He was predeceased by his parents, Griff Howard and Bette Thornson and his cousin Joey McManus. Mark was born on June 26, 1959 in Selkirk where lived his entire life. He had a great love of the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and sharing good times with special friends. He was a gentle, caring soul, with a ready smile and a kind word. A service of remembrance will be held on Monday, January 13 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nursing staff at the Selkirk General Hospital, especially Elinor Chomiak and Dr. Speer. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marks name to the Selkirk Palliative Care Unit at the Selkirk General Hospital, Box 5000, Selkirk, MB R1A 2M2.
