DJURO (GEORGE) GOMERCIC On Saturday, January 11, 2003, at Seven Oaks Hospital, our beloved husband, father and grandfather, George Gomercic passed away at the age of 69 years. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Ivka; sons, George (Shannon), Bob (Frances) grandchildren, Jory, Taylor, Meagan and Nicole; brothers Tona (Maria) and Vlado; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. George was predeceased by his parents and sister-in-law Ivanka. Dad loved soccer and spent many years coaching his sons and watching them with pride. However his greatest joy was his grandchildren and the time he spent with them. George along with his brother Vlado spent many long hours over the years building numerous homes all around the city. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, January 15 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Cremation will follow. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 16, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Nicolas Tavelich Roman Catholic Church, 2688 Main Street with Rev. Fr. Franjo Visaticki officiating. Luncheon will follow in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St. Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
