Date of Passing: Jan 13, 2003
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryChange in Date of Service ASHRI RAM DHARI SINGAL Peacefully on January 13, 2003 Babuji (Ram Dhari) passed away at his home in Maler Kotla, India. He is survived by his five sons and three daughters, two sons, Bhup Chand (Kanta) and Subash (Kamlesh) and three daughters, Rekha (Kulbushan), Urmil (Dinesh) and Sangeeta (Ramesh) in India; and three sons, Pawan (Roop), Vinod (Silvia) and Ashok (Deepa) in Canada. His 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren will miss him greatly. He was predeceased by his wife Ram Pyari, and son Bal Krishan. Babuji was born in 1917, and managed farming throughout his life in a village as well as in his hometown Maler Kotla. There he was well known and respected by all. He had a pioneering role in the development of the local Hanuman Temple, where on the wall his name is inscribed. The love and care he always showed for his family extended to all humanity in general. This was exemplified during the time of partition in India when he and others of the town provided refuge for Muslims at a time when doing so was perilous for any Hindu. He came to Canada in 1987 spending summers in Winnipeg and winters in India. Worldwide, the family will be ever thankful that all members could appreciate his company and learn from his wisdom. In lieu of flowers donations in Babujis memory may be made to the Hindu Centre (854 Ellice, 774-9197). Shanti Paath (prayer service) will be held at the Hindu Temple, 854 Ellice Ave. on Thursday, January 16 at 7:30 p.m.
