GORDON D. SIM August 13, 1929 - January 12, 2003 On Sunday evening, at Riverview Health Centre, our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Gordon Sim passed away in his 74th year. Gordon is survived by his wife, Anna-Marie (Fraser), of 49 years. He is lovingly remembered by son Brian, his wife Lone and their sons, Jakob and Robert of Saeby, Denmark. Also remembered by son Glenn of North Bay, ON, his son Andrew and Patti, Andrews mother. Left with wonderful memories is his daughter Barbara and fiance Steve Jaquith of Houston, Texas. He is also survived by brother Bruce (Vera), sister-in-law Eva, and brother and sister-in-laws, Wilson and Edith; Kevin and Emilie. Gordon was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Violet Sim; sister Frances; brothers, George and Jack. He will be missed by numerous nephews, nieces, neighbours and friends. Gordon was born in Winnipeg and grew up at Muir, MB, where he farmed with his parents. In 1953, he married Anna-Marie and they moved to Winnipeg. Gordon worked for Manitoba Hydro for 32 years, retiring in 1986. He enjoyed outdoor activities, hunting and fishing, also camping trips with his family. He was an avid baseball player and fan and enjoyed curling in his retirement years. The family would like to extend grateful thanks to Dr. Maurice Shnider for his constant care and compassion. In accordance with Gordons clear wishes, a family dinner celebrating his life has taken place. Interment will take place in September, at Hillside Cemetery, Portage la Prairie, MB. Donations can be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6. "What seems to us a sunset is a sunrise in another land"
