MARIA AIELLO (MORELLA)
Born: Apr 28, 1990
Date of Passing: Jan 15, 2003
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIA AIELLO (nee MORELLA) April 28, 1900 - January 15, 2003 On Wednesday, January 15, 2003, peacefully and surrounded by her loving family, our mother passed away at the age of 102. Mother was predeceased by her husband Antonio and her son Luigi. She is survived by her sons, Francesco (Maria), Giuseppe (Victtoria), Pietro (his late wife Antonietta), Natalino (Carmellina), Antonio (Maria) daughter Maria (Salvatore) Stranieri; 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her sister Saveria Morelli-Mazzei and family in France. Mother was born in Serrastretta, Italy on April 28, 1900. In 1920 she married Antonio Aiello. They made Amato their home and raised eight children. Antonio passed away in 1946. As a single mother with eight children to feed, Mother worked hard to make sure that there was food on the table and a roof over our heads. Mother watched with pride as her children grew up, married and one by one immigrated to Canada. In March 1968, she decided to come to Canada to be with her family and she settled in Winnipeg. Over the past 35 years, Mother has been happiest watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up. She loved working in her vegetable gardens and on her sewing projects. She enjoyed spending her summers at Matlock Beach where she shared great times with her family and friends. Mother was a kind, caring and loving person, who lived her life to the fullest and she will be in our hearts forever. Viewing will be held on Saturday, January 18 between 1:30 p.m.and 2:00 p.m. in St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, 255 Stafford St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., also in the church, with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding at the Eucharist. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum, 1501 Waverley St. Pallbearers will be Tony Aiello, Tony Stranieri, Frank Stranieri, Victor Giesbrecht, Brad Nicholls and Luigi Aeillo. Io muoio, ma il mio affetto per voi Non morira: Vi amero dal cielo Come vi ho amato sulla terra If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marias memory to a charity of choice.
