JUDY LORRAINE AIKEN (nee DUNN) August 18, 1945 - January 11, 2003 It is with profound sadness that the family announces the tragic passing of Judy Lorraine Dunn on Saturday, January 11, 2003 at the Health Sciences Centre. Judy will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 34 years Donald; her daughters, Coral and Nicole; her brothers, Lorne (Carol) and Gary (Sandy) and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. She was predeceased by her mother Isabel and father William. Judy was a vibrant and energetic person with an incredibly generous spirit. Between working and raising a family, she always found time to volunteer for many worthy charities and organizations. She served as president of the Manitoba Home and School Parent Teacher Association, was active in the YM/YWCA and Laurentia Beach Association, and canvassed for numerous charities over the years. Judy was a large part of the Charleswood community where she made her home. She also enjoyed work as a Mary Kay consultant, through which she leaves behind an abundant network of friends. Judys greatest joy was her family. She played a central role in the lives of her two daughters and supported them in their many endeavours, sharing their love of music, dance and Laurentia Beach sunsets. Recently, Judy became more involved with her church (Gloria Dei Lutheran) and the family would like to thank Pastor Gilbertson and the congregation for their continued support. We would also like to thank the SICU staff at the Health Sciences Centre for their caring and compassion. Judy had a rare and special personality that has touched many people. The family appreciates the amazing support we have received from everyone. Judy was an exceptional person and will be greatly missed by all. A Lutheran service of remembrance will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, 4588 Roblin Blvd., on Thursday, January 23 at 2:00 p.m. Parking access via Grant Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Judy Aiken Memorial Volunteerism Award. Donations to the fund will be accepted at the Charleswood branch of the Assiniboine Credit Union, 5930 Roblin Blvd., or may be donated at the service.
