March 5, 1921 - January 17, 2003 Peacefully, following a lengthy illness, it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jose Closas Sr. on January 17, 2003 at the age of 81 years. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Antonina "Trining", his children, Dominic (Rose), Clarita (Eddie) Justo, Penny (Conrado) Pineda, Jose Jr (Oly), Chris (Edna), Danilo (Laila) of the Philippines, Raffy (Reggie) and Eddie (Clarinda) grandchildren, Jennifer (Donovan) Tomlinson, Roseleigh (Kelly) LeBleu, Ryan, Evangeline Closas-Justo, Maria-Elena Aviles, Edwin Justo, Evans (Jhoana) Justo, Connie (Joe) Vergel, Jason Pineda, Jolie-Anne, Jocelyn, Oliver, Jasmine, Edelvice (Noel) Santos, Christian, Christopher, Chester, Donny, Dennis, Joel, Lannie, Diana, Kevin, Rochelle, Randy, Christine and A.J.; great-grandchildren, Thane and Trae Tomlinson, Keegan and Raeleigh LeBleu, E.J. Aviles, Julian Vergel and Mark Neil Santos, and numerous relatives and friends in Canada, the United States and the Philippines. He was predeceased by his sons, Rolando and Rizaldy. He immigrated to Canada on December 13, 1980. He will be lovingly remembered for the special traditions he instilled in his family and his very popular lumpia. The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Warren, Joyce and the staff on the fourth floor of Deer Lodge Centre. Viewing/Lamay will take place on Wednesday, January 22 and Thursday, January 23 from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight at 1501 Waverley St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 24 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peters Church, 748 Keewatin St., with Rev.
