PETER HENRY HARDER May 24, 1924 - January 15, 2003 With sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Peter Harder, on January 15, 2003, at the Boundary Trails Health Centre. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Margaret; by daughters, Shirley Harder and son Kyle, Beverly Riel and daughter Elizabeth; stepson Terry Budd, of Winnipeg. He leaves to mourn two sisters, Elsie Friesen, Anne Purger; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his former wife Betty; and three siblings. Dad was born in Horndean, and grew up in the Southern Manitoba area. He served with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles during the Second World War and was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Dad spent many years in Winnipeg with his family as a Transport Driver at SOO Securities/Motorways. Retirement brought Dad and Margaret winters in Texas, enjoying friendship, the warm sun and catfish. Dad had an insatiable love for life, for people - he loved to laugh and play a tune on his guitar, one of our favourites was "You are my Sunshine." Peters daughters want to thank Margaret for her commitment and dedication to their dad, especially during this last year. Memorial service at Christ Lutheran Church, 155 Gilmore St., Morden, MB, Tuesday, January 21 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Interment follows at Winkler Cemetery. Wiebe Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Palliative Care Unit, Boundary Trails Health Centre, P.O. Box 2000, Winkler, MB. R6W 1H8.
