LENA OSTAPCHUK (nee KRAMBLE) Mom passed away peacefully on January 13, 2003 at Poseidon Care Centre, her home for the past 19 months. She was born on August 12, 1909 in Unterwalden, Austria to Christine and Traugott Krahenbiel. She came to Canada at a very young age and lived her entire life in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her devoted husband Tony in April 1990 after 55 years of marriage. Mom will be lovingly missed by her daughter Frances and son-in-law Edward H. Irvine, her grandson Edward A. Irvine and wife Karlene, and great-grandchildren, Kyla and Rylan. A sister Tennie Worosz of Winnipeg and a brother Chris of Vancouver. Also nieces and nephews. Cremation at Moms request with a family memorial service at a later date. A sincere acknowledgement of appreciation to the staff at Poseidon for their care, kindness and support. Baba, as she was affectionately called, will always be remembered for the love she had for her family. A beauty of a woman is not the clothes she wears, the figure she carries or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes because that is the doorway to her heart the place where love resides.
