RUTH MARIE REID Ruth Marie Reid of White Rock, BC (formerly of Winnipeg) passed away peacefully January 8, 2003 to rejoin Weldon, her recently deceased husband of 56 years. Ruth was a loving wife and best friend to Weldon and mother of four sons, Mark, Paul, Alan and John. Ruth is also survived by her sister Judy and brothers, Jack and Frank plus many nieces and nephews. Ruth was a devote Catholic, a member of the CWL and went above and beyond the call of duty to instill such values onto her sons. Ruth had a strong intellect and great sense of humour. Knowing Ruth was an inspirational experience. Some of the other joys of her life included knitting, jigsaw puzzles and Scrabble. The family would like to thank registered home care aide, Arlene for making our mothers last years a more pleasant experience. We would also like to thank the kind staff in the Palliative Care Unit at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock. Prayer services will be held Sunday, January 19 at 5:00 p.m. at the Old Star of the Sea Church, Fir and Pacific in White Rock. Entrance to the church is on Fir Street. Funeral mass will follow on Monday, January 20 at 11:00 a.m., also at the same church. Ruth and Weldons remains will be interred together at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum in Winnipeg at a later date. In lieu of flowers Ruths many friends may donate to a charity of their choice.
