ROBERT EARLE SCALES Robert Earle Scales peacefully went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, January 14, 2003 in the Swan River Valley Hospital at the age of 88 years. He was born on April 25, 1914 at Manitou, Manitoba. Earle will be sadly missed by his son Terry (Lorrel) of Swan River, MB and their children, Rob (Loril), Kevin (Sanna), Richelle (Brent) Pierrepont, Kyla Scales (Tyson Keith), and Jon; son Doug (Bobbi) of Lethbridge, AB and their children, Justin and Ashley; daughter Vicki (Ron) McClelland of Edmonton, AB and their children, Brenda, Bonnie (Wade) Paton, Becky, Barbara (Brett) Gitzel; daughter Valerie (Florent) Rabut of St. Louis, SK and their children, Nicole (Thuong) Tran, Renee (Chris) Lan, and Ryan; and his 11 great-grandchildren. Earle is survived by his brothers, Joe (Mildred), Mac (Mary) sister Viola Carey (Rampton) and his sister-in-law Doris Scales. He was predeceased by his wife Gladys; his father Robert William; his mother Viola Pearl; his brothers, Wes and Bill (June) sister-in-law Helen; and brother-in-law Lawrence Rampton. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18 at 2:00 p.m. from the St. James Anglican Church, Swan River, MB, with Rev. Nigel Packwood officiating. Cremation was held at Heritage Memorial Gardens, Swan River. Earle will be laid to rest in the Birchwood Cemetery, Swan River following the funeral service. Earles grandchildren will be pallbearers: active bearers, Rob Scales, Kevin Scales, Kyla Scales, Richelle Pierrepont, Justin Scales, Ashley Scales, Becky McClelland, Nicole Tran, Renee Lan and Ryan Rabut; honorary bearers, Jon Scales, Brenda McClelland, Barbara Gitzel, and Bonnie Paton. Should family and friends so desire, memorial donations in Earles honour may be made to a charity of ones choice.
