LENA ZAJAROS (nee KRASEY) Lena peacefully passed away on Friday, January 17, 2003 at Concordia Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Lena was born in Meleb, MB and has spent her whole life in and around Winnipeg. She worked at St. Boniface Hospital and Health Sciences Centre. She also worked at Eatons and the Teulon Gordon Hotel. Lena loved to garden and spend time with family and friends. She had a wonderful sense of humour and a contagious laugh. She was loved by all that knew her. She was predeceased by her parents, Wasyl and Anna Krasey; husband Andrew Zajaros; and by long time companion Bill Horpiniuk; also three sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her children, Richard (Christine) Nelson, Andrew (Renate) Zajaros, Angela (Harold) Pitman, David (Brenda) Zajaros, Mike Zajaros; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters. She will be sadly missed by all that knew her. We wish to thank all the nurses on 3 East at Concordia Hospital who made our mothers last weeks comfortable. Also a special thanks to Brenda Zajaros for her special care, love and support to Mom and to all who visited Mom in the hospital and kept her spirits up and faith strong. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Mary Lou Sellen for her outstanding support, care and compassion. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 22, at 10:00 a.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Highway 1 East at Navin Road with Mary Lou Sellen officiating. Interment to follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Childrens Wish Foundation of Canada, 350 St. Mary Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3J2.
