LOUIS GESSELL Louis Gessell, of Winnipeg, MB, passed away January 18, 2003 at the Grace Hospital at the age of 88 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Betty; two sons, Glen (Judy) and Norman (Marilyn). His grandchildren, Lisa (Rick) McDougall, Grant (Melanie), Michael and Steven. He is also survived by his two brothers, John, Daniel; and sister Helen Smyth; nieces and nephews. Louis was born in Lemberg, SK, September 7, 1914. He grew up in the Glen Bain District west of Gravelbourg, SK, until he came to Winnipeg in 1941. Louis was a man of great insight, wisdom and sense of humour. He was very meticulous in all he did. He worked at Swift Canadian for some years and later retired after 32 years of service with Dominion Bridge. Louis enjoyed his 23 years of retirement with his family and his many handyman projects.
