CLAIR W. MAURSTAD 1933 - 2003 Clair passed away at Grace Hospital after a lengthy illness on Saturday, January 18, 2003. Clair will be sadly missed by his devoted wife Iris; a sister Sylvia Jorde (Jerry) in Drayton, ND and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as by his little companion, Mollie who provided so much love and affection during his long illness. Clair grew up and attended school in Drayton, ND. He graduated from the University of North Dakota before moving in the early 1960s to Winnipeg and in 1964 he and Iris were married. Clair worked in various sales positions and later joined the provincial government and retired early on a disability pension. Clair had a great fondness for all birds and animals both domestic and wild. Over the years he took many trips where he viewed wildlife in its natural habitat. These included Africa, India, and South America as well as trips within Canada and the United States. His love of travel was strong and he was always ready for any type of adventure trip. His most memorable trip was to Peru where he climbed the slopes of Macchu Picchu. He often talked of this place as being the most fascinating of all. Cremation has taken place. In accordance with Clairs wishes there will be no service. Donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6. I am a part of all that I have met; Yet all experience is an arch wherethro Gleams that untravelld world, whose margin fades For ever and for ever when I move. How dull it is to pause, to make an end, To rust unburnishd, not to shine in use! - Ulysses (Alfred, Lord Tennyson) LEATHERDALE GARDINER 1858 Portage Avenue, 949-4872
