Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANCES R. SHAYKEWICH (nee BOTCHAR) Peacefully with her family by her side, Frances passed away at Concordia Hospital on January 18, 2003 at the age of 92. Born July 15, 1910 in Brunkild, MB Frances moved to Cooks Creek, MB in 1919. In 1940, she married Peter, who predeceased her in 1977. She leaves to mourn her passing her sons, Carl (Margaret), Walter (friend Linda), Joseph (friend Halyna) and daughter Mary (Fred) grandchildren, David (Susan), Jennifer, Suzanne and Jonathan. Frances is also survived by her brothers, Michael, Joseph, Leon; and sister Ann. She was predeceased by her brothers, Anton and Stanley; and her sister Helen. Frances grew up and raised her family on a farm. Her life was centered on her family, the church and her love of gardening. She was a member of St. Michaels Church in Cooks Creek and, after she and Peter moved to Winnipeg in 1967, of Holy Ghost Church where she was a member of the Rosary Club. Beyond Holy Ghost Church she was also a member of the Order of St. Francis. She continued to practice her faith after moving to the Kildonan Personal Care Centre in 1995. While there she still enjoyed caring for her windowsill garden. One of her greatest joys was watching her family grow and succeed in their own lives. Prayers will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., on Wednesday, January 22, at 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Ghost Church, 341 Selkirk Ave., on Thursday, January 23, at 10:30 a.m., with an Oblate Father officiating. Interment to follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery. The family would like to thank Kildonan Personal Care Centre and Concordia Hospital for their care and compassion. If friends desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
