JOZEFA (JOSEPHINE) ANTKOWIAK (nee BLASZCZYK) It is with great sadness that the family announces that Josephine passed away suddenly while a patient at Seven Oaks Hospital on January 20, 2003. Josie was born in Lodz, Poland on May 29, 1925. She grew up in Lodz until she was taken as a teenager to Germany during the Second World War. Josie and Marian were married in 1949 and immigrated to Canada in 1953. Josie worked most of her life in the garment industry as a seamstress, most recently at Peerless Garments before retiring in 1990. She was a devout Catholic and was a member of the choir at Holy Ghost Church. Josie was predeceased by the untimely death of her beloved husband Marian in February, 1969 and her sister Lola Hynek on March 26, 1999. She leaves to mourn her son Karl (Carol) daughter Barbara (Robert) and her two grandchildren, Neil and Brina, whom she adored. She spent a great deal of time with her grandchildren and they sadly miss her caring words and advice. She will be remembered and cherished in our hearts always. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 24 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. with viewing one half hour prior to the Mass. An Oblate Father will officiate and interment will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery. Cropo Funeral Chapel 586-8044
