STANLEY JAMES KAZINA June 13, 1945 - January 20, 2003 It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the sudden death of Stan, aged 57 years, at his residence in Tyndall, MB. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved daughter Kerry (Hal) Smith; granddaughter Kate; mother Katherine Kazina; brothers, Henry (Lorraine), Peter, Alfred and William; sisters, Eleanor (Lorne) Strick and Verna; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Peter Sr. in 1975. Stan was born in the St. Boniface Hospital and raised in Tyndall, MB. He attended schools in Tyndall and Beausejour, Teachers College in Winnipeg and received his B.A. and B.E.D. degrees from the University of Manitoba. He began his 35 year career as an educator in Nordale School in the Norwood School Division. After 18 years, he moved on to Archwood School in the St. Boniface School Division where he retired as Principal in June, 2000. Stan was a sports enthusiast, excelling especially in fastball and curling. He was a past president and multi-year treasurer of Tyndall Aerie No. 3386 of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, a lifelong member of the Tyndall Curling Club and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Tyndall-Garson Council No. 8897 until its dissolution in 1999. Stan had a passion for horse racing, doing crossword puzzles and gardening. Upon retirement, he enjoyed working on his hobby farm and cutting firewood in winter. Stans most cherished possession was his daughter Kerry and one of his most recent pleasures was spending time with Kerry, Hal and their daughter Kate in Vancouver, BC. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25, at 11:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Ave. E, Beausejour, with Rev. Fr. Sebastian Gacki presiding. Interment will follow in the Tyndall Cemetery. Friends may view at the chapel prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations in Stans memory may be made to Archwood School to assist students and families in need.
