Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryENOCH KRISTIAN OVERGAARD Enoch Kristian Overgaard, aged 103 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at Tuxedo Villa. Dad leaves behind many stories and memories cherished by his daughter Astrid (Wayne) Walker; his son Paul (Gail) Overgaard; and grandchildren, Karin (Glen Beer) Overgaard, David Overgaard, Les Walker (Holly), David Walker (Alice) and great-grandchildren Boston, Lucas and Dorion. Enoch was predeceased by his wife Erna in 1989. Dad was born in Northern Norway on November 17, 1899 and immigrated to Canada with his brothers Haakon and Johan, in search of a better life. Even though he was proud of his Norwegian roots, he always said that Canada was good to him. He worked primarily as a carpenter and was an honorary member of the Carpenters Union. Most notably he spent many years building grain elevators across the prairies and other projects like the paddocks and the shopping centre at Polo Park and the St. James Bridge. He and his brothers assisted in the construction of Our Saviours Lutheran Church. He was a long time resident of Simcoe Street and also a life member of the Norwegian Canadian Club. He shared many good times with the members of the club and truly appreciated their care and support. Enochs family would like to thank Dads special caregiver, Jane Parkinson and the staff at Tuxedo Villa. A service to celebrate our dads life will be held on Friday, January 24, at 2:00 p.m. at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, 600 Minto St. Interment at St. Vital Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Enochs memory may be made to the Scandinavian Centre, 764 Erin St., Winnipeg, MB R3G 2W4 or to Our Saviours Lutheran Church. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
