Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNIE SHUMILA Annie Shumila passed away with her family at her side at the St. Boniface Hospital on Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at 84 years of age. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her four children and their families, son Mort, grandsons, Ricky (Lana) and their children, Mary and Max; Kenny (Shannon) and their children, Nathan and Matthew; son Elmer (Valerie), grandchildren, Kim and Greg; daughter Valerie Fey (Clifford), granddaughters, Angela Fey and Amanda Fey-Lockwood (Anthony) son Leslie (Debbie), grandchildren, Lindsey and Bradley. Annie is also survived by her sister Mary Mazur of Winnipeg and by her brother Harry (Josie) of Edmonton. Annie was predeceased by her husband William (October, 2001) her parents, John and Nellie Holigroski; brothers, Nick, Mike and Steve; and sisters, Jean Boychuk, Ada Galay, Elsie Baumgartner; and great-grandson Jesse. Annie was born November 17, 1918 at Ladywood, MB. She married William on July 3, 1937 and farmed in Brokenhead, MB where they raised their family. In 1964, the family moved to Winnipeg, but they still kept the farm. Annie was employed by the Winnipeg Convalescent Home for 18 years. Annie, along with her husband, was able to embrace a full life enjoying their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, who were all the light of their life. Annie and Bill had the good fortune to travel to many destinations throughout the world with family and friends. Annie lived life to the fullest and only gave up her courageous fight with heart disease when the battle was too much. A prayer service will be held on Sunday, January 26, at 7:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Ave. E, Beausejour. The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 27, at 10:00 a.m. also at Sobering Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Fr. Ivan Demkiv the Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Town of Beausejour Cemetery. The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff, of the various wards at the St. Boniface Hospital for the care given to Annie over the last seven years. In lieu of flowers, if family and friends so desire, donations in Annies memory may be made to a charity of ones choice.
