HAROLD DUECK Born in Ontario October 15, 1929, passed away at home in North Vancouver, BC, in his sleep in the early hours of January 18, 2003. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Olga, and in Manitoba, his brother Paul (Mary), his first wife Irma, daughter Colleen (Darrell), son Gary (Elizabeth) and granddaughter Rachel. Also many other relatives and old friends in Manitoba, Ontario and British Columbia. Harold graduated from the University of Manitoba at an early age with a B.Sc., and B.Ed. He was active in real estate for over 40 years, initially in Winnipeg operating his own company, Fairhaven Realty, then in Toronto, and eventually in Vancouver as a manager for Royal LePage. He was President of the Winnipeg Board, the Manitoba Association, and then the Canadian Real Estate Association in 1971. An avid boater since arriving on the West Coast in 1978, and a member of the Burrard Yacht Club for many years, he served as Commodore in 1986. A memorial service will be held at Boal Funeral Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Rd., North Vancouver, on Monday, January 27, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
