VICTOR KIRDEI On Wednesday, January 22, 2003, peacefully at home with family and friends at his side, Victor Kirdei passed away after a short and courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 49 years. Predeceased by his mother Ludmilla and father John, mother-in-law and father-in-law Vera and William Wachniak, and brother-in-law Lawrence Wachniak. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Donna of 26 years; daughter Amanda; family pet Angus; siblings, Tony (Dagmar), Olga (Art) James; sisters-in-law, Marlene Wachniak, Judy (Michael) Bard; brother-in-law John (Mary) Wachniak; nieces and nephews, Sabrina, Tristan, Christopher, Derek, Kurtis, Alyssa, Kristen. He will also be missed by extended family and friends. Victor grew up in the North End of Winnipeg. He graduated from the University of Manitoba. Victor had a great passion for teaching and he taught for 25 years at Isaac Brock, Tec Voc and Daniel MacIntyre. He was involved in coaching, physical education, counselling and math. Victor was an avid athlete and enjoyed basketball, running, gardening, camping and outdoor activities. He was a dedicated father and husband and was always willing to help anyone and everyone. Prayers will be held on Friday, January 24, at 7:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Josephs Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave. Interment at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Amandas educational Trust Fund, which has been set up at Vantis Credit Union, 157D - 1485 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3G 0W4 (lower level Polo Park).
