Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY BANERA (nee PAWLINSKI) 1915 - 2003 It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Mary Banera, aged 87 years, of Gimli, on January 22, 2003 at her residence. Mary was born in Meleb, MB on July 21, 1915, the oldest of five children born to the late William and Sophie Pawlinski. She lived at Gimli most of her life and spent many years as a cook at "The Falcon" restaurant. She also enjoyed gardening and looking after her many flowers and plants. Mary was predeceased by her husband Dan and a son Edward. She leaves to mourn her passing, son Richard; daughter Bernice (Don) Symington; granddaughter Lorraine (Leo) Passaggio; great-grandson Dylan; grand-daughter Kelly (Scot) McTaggart; great-grand-daughter Jessie; sisters, Anne Steeves and Telly (Ray) Sisk; brothers, Mike (Audrey) Pawlinski and Peter (Agnes) Pender; as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 27 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Gimli, with Fr. Peter Chorney officiating. Viewing one hour prior to the service. Cremation to follow with interment at a later date in the Dnister Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, Unit 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli in care of arrangements.
