ERNEST EDWIN SPRINGETT Ernest Edwin Springett died on January 20, 2003 in Luther Court. He was born in Essex, England on October 10, 1905 and came to Canada with his family in April 1913. He lived in or near Winnipeg, MB until he retired in October 1966, coming to British Columbia the same month. He was predeceased by his first wife Florence Mabel Rowe in August 1974 and by Gwendolyn Mary Sparks, who died in July 1986. He is survived by his daughter Barbara Middlestead of Winnipeg; son John Springett (Arlene) of 100 Mile House; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; his sisters, Vi Vickers, Marjory Launitz-Schurer of Victoria and Winnifred Goodaire (Edgar) of Toronto; and many nieces and nephews. Of special mention are his niece and nephew, Anne and Jerry Langille who took such great care of him in his latter years. Memorial service to be held at St. Matthias Anglican Church at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25. Following cremation the ashes to be interred beside those of his first wife in Royal Oak Burial Park, Victoria. No flowers by request.
