JOYCE HOSKINS With great sadness, we announce the passing of Joyce Hoskins at Misericordia Place Personal Care Home, on Wednesday, January 22, 2003. Joyce was born on November 18, 1907, in Craven, SK of pioneering parents. After spending her childhood in Craven, she moved to Winnipeg in 1931, to join her three older sisters. She worked many years in the Cash Office and Head Cash Office in Eatons. She finished her career by serving as a receptionist for the Victorian Order of Nurses. Throughout her long life her pleasing personality inspired the love and loyalty of many friends and family members. Joyce was a beloved auntie to many nephews and nieces. She was a devoted member of the Anglican parishes of St. Matthews and Holy Trinity. She travelled extensively during her lifetime, and visited several places in North America and Europe. She particularly enjoyed several excursions to Disney World while in her 80s. She was predeceased by her parents, Leslie and Elsie Hoskins; 10 brothers and sisters; and nephew Gordon Caunt. She is survived by her dear friend, David Curran, and by 13 nephews and nieces, Jack and Alan McLeod, Phyllis Joorisity, Lillian Pettigrew, William, Leslie and Donat Hoskins, Jean Harkness, Elaine Williams, Ronald Tempest, Valerie Young, Dr. Anne Ismound and Brian Caunt. Also by many other relatives and friends. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to David, and to the wonderful staff at Misericordia Place for their loving care.
