PETER ALBERT FREJEK Peacefully, on Thursday, January 23, 2003, Peter Frejek passed away at the age of 89 years. He is survived by his three sons, Wayne (Carol) of Sioux Lookout, ON, David of Winnipeg and Greg (Lori) of Matlock, MB; five grandchildren, Debbie (Kevin), Cindy (Randy), Collin, Peter (11) and Joshua (6) and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Margaret (nee Brooke) in 1979. Peter was born in Tisdale, SK on May 31, 1913. He began working at the age of 13, breaking horses. He worked diligently at many different jobs over his lifetime, retiring as a lab attendant from the Health Sciences Centre in 1976. Peter served overseas in the Second World War where he met Margaret and married her on November 27, 1943. Upon returning to Canada they settled in Manitoba. He was a member of Brooklands and Weston Senior Citizens Centres, the Canadian Order of Forresters and of the Brooklands and Weston Legion for over 50 years. He treasured his dogs almost as much as his family, especially Jingles and Pugsley. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. A service of praise and thanksgiving to celebrate Peters life will be held on Wednesday, January 29, at 10:00 a.m. at The Meeting Place, 139 Smith St. Viewing will be held at 9:30 a.m. The family extends a special thank you to Peters nurse Gracie and also his caregivers, Donna, Lucy and Cecilia. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3.
