JOHN JOLING Peacefully, on Sunday, January 26, 2003 at the Betel Home in Selkirk, John Joling, aged 84 years, of Selkirk passed away. John is survived by his wife Jacoba; his children, Wilma (Lorne) Nicol and Henry (Leslie-Ann) Joling; grandchildren, Kathi (Kevin) Long, John (Faydra) Nicol, Elaine (Claude) Tetreault, Monica and Matthew Joling; great-grandchildren, Michael and Christopher Long, Parker and Nicolas Nicol and Ezekiel Tetreault. He also leaves five sisters and two brothers, all of the Netherlands. John was pre-deceased by his parents, two brothers, and a sister. John was born in Wehl, Netherlands on August 22, 1918 and immigrated to Canada in 1958. He worked in Ontario and Petersfield before settling in Selkirk where he worked at the Betel Home until his retirement in 1983. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, January 28 (today) at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, January 29 at 10:30 a.m. in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, Selkirk, with Fr. Boguslaw Wardzinski officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. His pallbearers will be John, Lorne and Larry Nicol, Kevin Long, Claude Tetreault and Richard Warza. The family would like to thank the caring staff at the Betel Home for all their kindness and support. You never asked for favours Yet you did them every day.
