DOREEN ROSE JOHNSON (nee RENAUD) Peacefully, on Saturday, January 25, 2003 at the Selkirk General Hospital, Doreen Johnson, aged 71 years, of Selkirk. Doreen is survived by her husband Cliff; sons, Rod Fidler (Jan) and Curtis (Hilda) daughters, Cindy (Dan), Debbie (Walter) and Norine; her precious granddaughter Barbie whom she helped raise; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves her sisters, Barbara Halyk and Violet Thomsen (Marus) and brothers, Alec and Harvey (Sylvia). She was predeceased by her precious daughter Barbara June Fidler; parents, Lauga and John; sisters, Marianne, Margaret, Ruth, Johanna, Rena; and brothers, Halli, Johnny and Andrew. Doreen was born on November 9, 1931 in Riverton, MB. She had a heart of gold, always willing to help her friends and tenants in the block she and her husband worked as caretakers. Some of her interests were knitting, and of course bingo and country music. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 29 at 2:00 p.m. in the Selkirk Aboriginal Redemption Center, 209 Dufferin Ave., Selkirk, with Pastor Ray Settee officiating.
