LEON DESILETS August 22, 1918 - January 27, 2003 Peacefully at the St. Boniface Hospital with family at his side, he went to his eternal home. Leon was born in Elie and farmed until his retirement in 1976. In his youth, Leon enjoyed hockey, baseball and curling at a later age. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Army, Navy and Air Force. He was also a member of the Armed Forces in the last war. He is survived by four sisters, Cecile Leavenworth, Gilberte La Marre, Pauline Chabot and Stella Borrie; and by many nieces and nephews who will all miss the twinkle in his eyes and his wonderful sense of humour. He was predeceased by his parents, Donat and Pamela Desilets; two brothers, Emile and Marcel; and by two sisters, Fleurette Ayotte and Alice Desilets. Funeral mass will be celebrated in the Blessed Sacrament Church in Elie, MB on Thursday, January 30 at 2:00 p.m., preceded by Recitation of the Rosary at 1:30 p.m., with Fr. Albert Lafreniere officiating. Cremation to follow, with interment in the parish cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Blessed Sacrament Church or to a charity of choice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks to the homecare givers and staff at the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative for the excellent care given to him. Adams Funeral Service of Elie, Manitoba in care of arrangements.
