LARRY MILES With family by his side, Larry, 56, beloved father, husband and son, died January 27, 2003, after a courageous battle with cancer. Left to mourn his loss are his four children, Matt, Dave, Samantha and Jacob, and their mother Jeanette; Larrys mother Helen; sister Roberta and her family of New York and sister Jackie. Larry will also be sadly missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Larry was predeceased by his father George. Larry was born in Winnipeg on May 5, 1946, graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Masters in Business Admin. (finance) and launched a successful career in the computer technology industry. Working in Toronto, and subsequently Kansas City, he was an award-winning marketing consultant, managing teams of sales and support professionals. Larry loved classical music and was an avid sports fan. His greatest fulfilment was his children who remember their dad as their hero - a man of integrity, honesty and compassion. He loved to debate with them, coach their soccer and bowling games, and was always their loudest cheering section. He embraced life fully and was deeply spiritual. Larry was a devoted son and father with a kind heart who wanted no more than to honour his parents and love his children. We miss him very much. Funeral services were held at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue on January 29. Pallbearers were Gary, David and Greg Miles, Marty and Jeff Dveris and Larry Winestock. The family wishes to thank friends and relatives for their comfort, support and assistance, and the staff of Riverview Health Centre for their wonderful care. The family also wishes to thank Dr. Minuk for his dedication, and in lieu of flowers, asks that donations be made to the Health Sciences Centre Foundation, Liver Research, MS7 - 820 Sherbrook St.
