BARBARA WARZEL Peacefully, with her family by her side, on Monday, January 27, 2003, Barbara Warzel, aged 68 years, passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital. Barbara was predeceased by her husband Marian in 1997, and her parents Josef and Balbina Bawiec. Barbara is survived by her two sons, Mark, Tony and wife Susan; granddaughters, Monica and Andrea; sister Zosia and husband Ignac Szelazek; niece Joanna and husband Ramin and son Brian Hamedani; nephew Paul Szelazek; sister Elizbieta; brothers, Stanislaw and wife Matylda, Bronislaw, Fr. Boleslaw, Ryszard and wife Barbara; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, family and friends in Winnipeg and Poland. Barbara was a loving and generous person who worked hard all her life. She will be remembered for her strong faith, and her willingness to help others. Barbaras greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends. She also took great pleasure in her baking and will be missed for her perogies that were enjoyed by many. Throughout her life, Barbara enjoyed travelling to visit her many friends and relatives. Barbaras greatest pleasure was her granddaughters. She loved taking care of them and attending their many activities. Babcia could always be counted on to provide her support and encouragement. She will be missed by many. Prayers will be said at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30 at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave with an Oblate Father officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbaras memory to the St. Amant Centre, 440 River Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2M 3Z9. Thank you to the excellent staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, 3rd Floor Unit 5, for their compassionate care. A special thank you to the doctors and staff at Seven Oaks Oncology.
