JEANNETTE WESTWOOD Peacefully on January 28, 2003 at the Arborg and District Health Centre, Jeannette Westwood, aged 85 years of Gimli, MB. Jeannette was born in Winnipeg on September 6, 1917, daughter of the late Allan and Irena Duncan. She married Alfred Westwood in 1940 and they resided in Winnipeg until their retirement at which time they moved to Gimli (Shorepoint). She had been employed at Eatons for many years and after retiring, her and Alfred enjoyed travelling, spending many winters in Arizona. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was a member of the 55 Plus Club at the Legion and of the New Horizons Seniors Club. Jeanette was predeceased by her husband Alfred in 1986 and by her six brothers and sisters. She leaves surviving one son Ron (Lynn) of Arborg; one daughter Penny (Peter) Kiely of Langley, BC; four grandchildren, Brian Westwood of Arborg, Dana Recksiedler (Curtis) of Grand Marais, and Gregg (Susan) Kiely and Heather (Peter) Vido, all of Delta, BC; and her great-grandchildren, Sean, Ashley, Taylor, Tyler and Alexandria. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, January 31 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Gimli with Pastor George Johnson officiating. Interment at a later date in Brookside Cemetery, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of choice. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Arborg and District Health Centre and the Arborg Personal Care Home.
