Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE DANIEL HALMA Deborah, Allison and friend Jeffrey, are saddened by the sudden passing of their husband and father, George Daniel Halma on Monday, January 27, 2003. He leaves behind fond memories for his mother and father, Oksana and Theodozij (Theo) his sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Jim Macgregor; and numerous other family members and friends. George was born on March 28, 1948 in Ingolstadt, Germany. His parents were emigrating from the Ukraine for a better life in Canada, making their new home in Winnipeg in 1949. He received his B.A. degree, majoring in History, from the University of Winnipeg in 1969. George was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1997 and courageously faced the challenges of living with MS for the past six years. His passions were his family, all sports, reading, power tanning and gardening. Not a day went by without his crossword puzzle. His was a very unique character, a wit like no other. His "Chez Daniel" menus are going to be so missed. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 1 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (South of the Royal Canadian Mint). A private family interment will take place in the Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.
