PAULINE DEMSKI 1902 - 2003 Passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 30, 2003 at the age of 100. Paulines legacy in life will be her family who are left to mourn her passing sons, John (Rose) and Ed of Winnipeg, Peter of Portage la Prairie and Frank (Janet) of West St. Paul; daughters, Jean Sawchuk of Winnipeg and Victoria (Peter) Stillman of Altamont, NY. She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by daughter-in-law Selma Demski; her children, Beverly, Richard, Audrey and Frances and their families of Winnipeg; seven nephews and nieces and families; too many to mention, as well as extended family in Byelorussia. Also left to mourn are 23 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; Eileen Zabarylo [Michael (Jennifer) and Darryl]; Ronald (Diane) [Brian, Andrew, Nicholas and Daniel]; Walter (Kathy) [Matthew, Melisa]; Diane Natiuk [Krista, Corey], Gerald (Linda) [Shannon (John) Kliewer (Ashton), Kerri (Sergio) Sabatini and Allyson (Al) Schamber (Erica)]; Glen; Darryl (Darlene) [Lisa, Laura]; Rodney; Larry Sawchuk; Deborah (Brian) Fedak; Richard (Charlyne) Janice (Russell) McCort [Adam, David, Melanie]; Brenda (Richard) Stefanko [Alix-Rae, Julia]; Daniel [Wesley, Jacquelyn]; James (Shelly) [Tony]; Cynthia Stillman; Donald (Diane) Stillman [Carly]; Tracy Stillman; Jody (Robert) Bibeau [Amanda, Brian]; Holly (Daniel) Thibodeau [Eden, Brady]; Crystal [Frankie, Ethan]. Pauline was predeceased by her parents, Lawrenty Shykoluk and Chrystyna (Borysiuk) husband Anton (1965) sons, Steve (1985), Walter (1992), Alex (2002) grandson Gordon (1972) granddaughter Lori (1981) great-grandson Paul (2000), brother Steve (1993) brother-in-law Bill and five infants at birth. Pauline was born in Ragodaszse, Povit Pinsk, Byelorussia. She immigrated to Canada with her husband and four small children in 1930, where they settled in Gilbert Plains, MB for seven years before coming to Winnipeg. A private person, Moms happiest memories were always in her home in the company of her family, hosting dinner parties, her love of flowers and garden and feeding the birds. The Demski family extends heartfelt thanks to Teresa and Stanley Morga, Frank and Nellie Zeaton, Ursella Warsycki, John and Eleanor Bassingthwaite, Willard and Judy Chartrand and Stan and Mary Kaskiw for the new and old friendships over the years. To Dr. Steve Husarewycz, Pat Davidson with WRHA, all the HCA gals for their patience and care which allowed Mom to remain at home, something that was so important to her. Our apology if weve overlooked anyone. We invite you to celebrate Moms life at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. with viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Ronald, Walter and Gerald; nephew Ken Szykoluk; John Bassingthwaite and Willard Chartrand.
