Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWINNIFRED GUTHRIE On January 24, 2003, Winnifred Guthrie (nee Gregory), widow of the late Jim Guthrie, died peacefully with her grandson Greg at her side, at the age of 86. She lived in Winnipeg all her life, spending her working years at Success Commercial College, as Employment Secretary, teacher, and later as Assistant Principal. Win was a former member of Beta Sigma Phi, and the National Secretaries Assoc. She graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a B.A. in 1936. For many years she was active in church and Sunday School activities, first at St. Andrews River Heights United and later at Rosedale United (now Churchill Park United). Her husband predeceased her in 1990. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Sadie Gregory, Dorothy Frazer and Evelyn McNicol and brothers, Ross, Neil and Jack Gregory. Surviving are daughter Pat Duncan (husband Cec), and grandsons, Greg (fiance Vera) and Rob who will deeply miss and always remember their grandmother Freddie s love, strength, wisdom, character, and her un-birthday presents. Surviving also are several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Lions Manor (Rimmer House), Dr. R. Singer and the nurses and staff at the Emergency Room and Unit 4 of Victoria Hospital for their care and kindness. At Wins request no service will be held.
