BETTY HUMPHREYS (MARCHAK) Peacefully, after a brief illness, surrounded by family and friends, on January 26, 2003, at the Peace Arch Hospital. Born in Narcisse, MB, October 26, 1938. Survived by her husband William; sons, Dean (Elspeth), Sean and companion Sharon; precious grandsons, Colton and Tadhg; brothers, Andrew, Bert, Leslie, Anthony, and their wives; sisters, Helen Fegol, Jeanette Huggins, Irene Zazulinski, Sharon Starr, Darlene Marchak, their husbands; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her youngest son Sheldon, sister Lorraine, and parents, Michael and Frances. Betty was very proud of her Ukrainian / Polish heritage. As recently as January 7 she invited family and friends to a traditional Ukrainian Christmas feast. Funeral services were held January 31, 2003 at First United Church. Interment followed at Valley View Memorial Gardens, Surrey, BC. Many thanks to nephew and niece, Ian (Shannon Starr) Murray, for providing funeral arrangements. Vichnaya Pamyat
