EDNA WILHELMINA LEMOINE 1914 - 2003 It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Edna Lemoine on January 31, 2003 at the Selkirk and District General Hospital at the age of 88. In addition to countless friends, Edna leaves to cherish her memory her sister-in-law Phyllis; cousins, Bill Barritt and Charmaine Wilson; and numerous other relatives. Edna was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Milda; brothers, Teddy, Keith, Glen; and sister Edith. Ednas career as a bookkeeper spanned many years. She was employed by Browns Bakery (Selkirk), Stonewall Motors, Stadium Ford and Jim Gauthiers Ford. Edna was a kind, caring person who gave of herself. Her door was always open to family and friends and all were warmly welcomed. She was a devoted daughter who was her mothers caregiver for many years. Ednas many interests included travelling, attending Blue Bomber games, reading and gardening. She took great pride in her rose garden. Born and raised in Petersfield she returned there after retirement and was an active member of the community. For many years she served as Treasurer of the Petersfield Seniors Club. Special thanks are extended to the staff of the Selkirk and District General Hospital, the home care workers and her dear friend Shirley Zamatis who was always there for her. A sincere thank you to all who visited Edna. She greatly enjoyed and appreciated the company of her friends. In compliance with Ednas wishes cremation has taken place and her ashes will be laid to rest next to her sister Edith. A memorial service will take place at Gilbarts Funeral Home, Selkirk on Wednesday, February 5, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Lynn Stevens officiating. Following the memorial service interment of the ashes will take place at Dunara Cemetery. If friends so desire, a donation in Ednas memory may be made to the Petersfield Community Hall or a charity of your choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
