Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCASIMIRO ELVAS MESQUITA Peacefully on Wed-nesday, January 29, 2003, Casimiro Elvas Mesquita passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital, at the age of 82 years. Mesquita was predeceased by his brother Joao Elvas, his sister Augusta Elvas and nephew David Elvas. He is survived by his brothers, Andre Elvas, Ouricio Elvas and Jose Elvas; and sister Carma Elvas. He also leaves to mourn his nieces and nephews, Alexander Elvas, Franscio Elvas, Maria (Tony) Alves, Isabel (Carlos) Sousa, Annette Elvas (Guaytain), Beatrice (Steve) Plank, all their families; as well as many good friends. Mesquita immigrated to Canada from Portugal in the 1950s, working in the mines in Thompson for many years before he was fortunate enough to open his own restaurant. It was there that he was able to help many immigrants in the Portuguese community by giving them food and shelter. Mesquitas enjoyment was to play his accordion for family and friends which brought back wonderful memories from his homeland. Prayers will be said at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 6 at Immaculate Conception Church, 181 Austin St. Funeral mass 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 7 also at Immaculate Conception Church with Rev. Fr. Jose Eduardo Medeiros presiding. Committal will take place in Portugal. Our sincere thanks to the Seven Oaks Hospital 5th Floor Unit 4.
