GEORGE JERZY PISKOR With his family at his side, George Jerzy Piskor died peacefully on January 30, 2003. He leaves to mourn his wife Adeline; sons, Tom (Pat) and Richard (Birgit) and grandchildren, Kelly and Sarah. George was born in Radom, Poland on May 25, 1926, only son of Henryk and Maria. George joined the Polish Underground Army during the Second World War and later served with the Polish 2nd Corps with the British Eight Army. Coming to Canada from England in 1947, George was a founding member of the SPK, Polish Combatants Association and the Royal Canadian Legion, A. Mynarski VC 34. He established a successful business, Imperial Cleaners, in Fort Garry, and was an avid supporter of sports teams in the area. In his retirement years, Dad enjoyed spending time at his cottage in Beaconia, walking his best friend Buddy and playing with his beloved granddaughters, Kelly and Sarah. Special thanks to Dr. Olson for her caring medical support, and to the nursing staff at Victoria General Hospital, 4th floor. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 4 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrew Bobola Church, 541 Marion St., with interment to follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be K. Patalas, H. Lebioda, T. Zielinski, H. Kozubski, G. Romanowski, and S. Offrowich. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
