EVELYN STALKER (DUNFIELD)

EVELYN STALKER (nee DUNFIELD) Passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully in her sleep on January 12, 2003. She is survived by Charles, her loving husband of 61 years; her daughters, Sharon Ellis (Ken), Marguerite Dodd (Les) and Wendy Robertson (Ted). She was a loving and proud grandmother to Chris, Deana, Cam, Samantha and Shanna; great-grandmother to Madyson, Omar and Sophia. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, George and Edith and brothers, Vernon and Edgar. She will be greatly missed by her sister, Myrtle Wolfe; sisters-in-law, Jean and Anne, numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Evelyn was born November 15, 1917 in Foxwarren, MB, attended Winnipeg Normal School and taught until her marriage in 1942. She later returned to teaching in Rivers, MB and Kenora, ON until 1970 when she moved to White Rock, BC, which became her home for 32 years. Family and music were her lifelong loves. Evelyn shared her exceptionally beautiful voice and musical talents with choirs and orchestras throughout the years. A memorial service was held Thursday, January 16 at St. Johns Presbyterian Church, White Rock, BC. Private interment will follow later this year.
