HELEN LILLIAN KATHLEEN TAYLOR (nee SIGURDSON) 1922 - 2003 It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Helen Taylor at the age of 80 years. Helen will be missed by her husband Roy; their children, Dorothy (Barry), Bob (Connie) and Gerry (Rita) and grandchildren, Krista, Mike, David and Jason. She was predeceased by her parents, and by her grandson Grant. Helen was born in Brandon, MB on October 24, 1922 the oldest child of four born to Peter Sigurdson and Helen (nee Hockley). Helen grew up in the east end of Brandon and met her husband Roy Taylor at a dance held in the Y.M.C.A. They got married on August 20, 1941 in Brandon. Helen, Roy and their three children moved to Winnipeg in 1960. Helen was involved with seniors groups. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and travelling. She had a love for learning and graduated with a diploma from Red River College in Social Welfare. In her later years she learned to play the harmonica and to use a computer. She was very proud of the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 3, at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. 1 East at Navin Road.
