MARJORIE TELMAN Marjorie Telman (nee Fingerote) passed away on January 21, 2003 (18 days in Shevat) at the Sholom Home West in St. Louis Park, MN. She was predeceased by her parents, Shmuel Fingerote and mother Fraida Fingerote (nee Garber) her brothers, David, Fred and George; sisters, Bertha, Bessie, Sybil, Rose and Esther. She was also predeceased by her husband Nat. Marjorie was born in Winnipeg, MB. She graduated from St. Johns Tech and continued on in education. She received her teaching certificate and began teaching in rural towns throughout Manitoba. Later Marjorie went on to teach at I.L. Peretz School in Winnipeg. Marjorie was married in 1953 to Nat Telman and moved to Minneapolis where she resided until her recent passing. Her life was centered around her strong belief in Judaism, Torah and great love of people. Marjorie loved writing letters to her many friends, nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed the many visits from her friends in the Jewish community who would care for her and visit her on Shabbos, particularly the school children, whom she loved so. Aunty Marjorie also looked forward to her special visits from her great-nephew Paul, wife DD and children, Sarah and Lainey from Winnipeg, as well, the visits from all her extended family. Many special thanks to Rabbi Heizler, Rabbi Goldberger, Jonathan and Mary Ann Grad, Sari Waxman, Esther Getzug and their families and the many other families that cared for and comforted Aunty Marjorie over the years and particularly the last months of her life. Funeral services were held at Shaarey Zedek Memorial Park in Winnipeg on January 22, 2003 (19 days in Shevat), Rabbi Yaacov Benamou officiating. Pallbearers included her great-great-nephew Jefferey Kowall, great-nephew Miles Kowall and great-nephew Paul Kowall, Bradley Pollock, Chiam Raber and William Rothman. Donations in Marjories memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
