Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARTIN (MARTY) FLETCHER October 5, 1959 - January 30, 2003 It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Martin (Marty) Fletcher on January 30, 2003. Marty was a husband, son, brother, uncle and great friend to many people. Besides his mother, Rita Fletcher, Marty is survived by his wife Theresa (Terry) Fletcher; brothers, Don (Evelyn), Rod (Karen), Dean, Fred (May) of Ontario; sisters, Teri Bryan of Calgary, Barb (Stefan), Denise (Wayne) Debbie Fletcher of Dryden, Bonita (Dane) Angie (Bill) and sisters, Marianne and Betty Lou of Ontario; nieces and nephews, Jackie, Lori, Kristopher, Jason, Tara, Myra, Robson, Leifur, Laura, Paul, Evan, Kallan, Jared, Janelle, Randi, Caden, Theo, Russell and Brooke. He was predeceased by his father, Frederick and brothers, Bernie, Gary and Ted. Marty was the owner/operator of A-1 Speedy Appliance, and had worked in the appliance business for 13 years and loved spending time with his buddies. Marty (Beerfoot) loved Lake Malachi, nature, animals and fishing. He loved the open fire and the stars at night. His fine eyes and talented hands could "free" up the animals he found "locked up" in the wood and soapstone. As a naturally gifted carver one of his works of art (an eagle) was displayed at The Winnipeg Art Gallery. He recently took up the game of golf and embraced it with a fervor and passion that exemplifies the way he led his life. Family and friends were a large part of Martys life. He was very close to his mother, revelled in the accomplishments of his many nieces and nephews and enjoyed spending time with his buddies. "Why do we search so hard and long for love, When if only we opened our eyes, We could see it right there in front of us." Why do we get so busy with meaningless tasks That we forget that which is most important to us. Now is the moment for love. Now is the moment to live our love with one another. There may never be a better time. A memorial service will be held at Fort Garry United Church, 800 Point Rd., on Wednesday, February 5 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Martys name to the Manitoba Wildlife Rehabilitation Organization Center, 1191 Research Station Rd., St. Adolphe, MB, 883-2122.
