Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILMA EDITH GRAVES (nee BARRON) Mrs. Wilma Graves, aged 95 years, wife of the late Mr.George William Graves, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2003 at EastGate Lodge, Beausejour, MB. She was born on November 26, 1907, at Purves, MB to James and Myrtle Barron. She married George W. (Bill) Graves on July 18, 1936 in Virden, MB. They farmed at Welwyn, SK until 1940. They then moved to Winnipeg, MB, residing on Ainslie Street in St. James until 1985 when she moved to Beausejour, MB. She was predeceased by her parents, James in 1965 and Myrtle in 1958; her husband Bill on October 16, 1980; and brother Laurence in 1956. During her years in Sturgeon Creek, Wilma was very active in the community, United Church and Auxiliary and the Grants Mill. As well as being the family historian, the highlight being a trip to Great Britain (Scotland) the home of her ancestors and (England) where Bill was born. Wilma and Bill had two sons, Gerald William (Ann) and James Donald George (Gail) three grandchildren, Corinne (Glen) Sachvie, Bill (Joanne) Graves, Debbie (Jim) Obie; six great-grandchildren, Dana and Brad Sachvie, Dallas and Kurtis Graves, and Tyler and Jenessa Obie. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 6 at 1:00 p.m. in the Pilot Mount United Church, with Rev. Irene Onuch officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Pilot Mound, MB. There will be viewing on Wednesday, February 5 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Avenue East, Beausejour, and at the church prior to the service. Pallbearers will be her grandson Bill; grandsons-in-law, Glen Sachvie and Jim Obie; and her cousins, Elwyn Brown and Keith Brown; and nephew Jim Barron. In lieu of flowers, if family and friends so desire, donations in Wilmas memory may be made to East Gate Lodge Personal Care Home, Box 1690, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0.
