KENNETH MOIR Kenneth Clifton Moir passed away on January 31, 2003, at Concordia Hospital. Ken Moir, beloved husband of Helen Beatrice Moir (Beecher), of Winnipeg died at the age of 80 years. Ken is survived by his wife Helen; daughters, Catherine Betker (Moir), Tracey Moir, both of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Christopher Betker, Jamie and Stacie (Betker) Groves, Roderick Moir, Chelsey Moir, all of Winnipeg; great-grandchildren, (Groves) Breydon, Tyler, Sarah and Kyle; parents James and Lillian Moir (Williams) brother Hector and Byrdie Moir, Sharon, Susan and families, brother Bruce and Helen Moir, Doug, Linda, Joanne and families; sister Isobele and Jack Brigham, Judy and family; Ted and Mabel Beecher; Patricia Beecher; cousin Blaine Grundy. He was predeceased by James and Lillian, Bruce and Isobel. Ken was born in 1922 in Winnipeg. He attended school with his siblings where their father was their principal. After graduation he went on to the University of Winnipeg, engineering. He then joined the Forces and was posted in England where he flew a spitfire with the RCAF from 1939 to 1945. When he came home after the war, he started a career that spanned over 30 years with the MacDonald Brothers and then Bristol Aerospace Ltd. He met and married Helen in 1947 and the rest is history. They celebrated 55 years November 1, 2002. He said it felt like 55 minutes. They enjoyed wonderful years of love and friendship, shared laughter and joy with the best of friends and neighbours that a couple could wish for. Thank you all for the wonderful memories, they are our strength. Memorial service will be held at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy., Winnipeg, on Friday, February 7 at 1:00 p.m. with reception to follow. Officiating will be Rev. Jim Hatherly of John Black United Church. The eulogy will be given by Wally Baron. Arrangements are entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
