Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOYCE PAPKO (nee BARKER) After a long struggle with many illnesses including, Parkinsons, Diabetes, and heart trouble, Joyce Papko passed away February 1, 2003. Joyce was born in Winnipeg, April 4, 1925 where she lived and went to school. Joyce graduated with grade 12 from Daniel McIntyre Collegiate Institute. Joyce was the secretary for Tyndall Park Community and Rate Payers Association for 20 years. In 1969, Joyce received a certificate from the City of Winnipeg for years of service to the community. She was employed with Eatons for many years. Predeceased by her parents, Albert and Bessie; sister Carole and daughter-in-law Barbara. Joyce will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her husband Andrew, whom she married July 30, 1948. Also surviving her are four sons, Timothy (Judy), Robert, twins: Kevin and Kerry (Janice) grandsons and granddaughters, Trevor, Brad, Derek, Shantel, Robert, Shawn, Allison and Mark; brother Ron Barker; sister Lois Devisser and nephews and niece, Jeff, Grant, Graham, Perry, Jerry, Kim, Sam, Audra and Ross all of Winnipeg and Springfield. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 5 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment and reception will follow. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. In loving memory of my dear wife, who left after 54 years, 6 months of marriage: You gave us years of happiness. Then came sorrow and tears But you left us with beautiful memories To be treasured throughout the years. They say that time heals everything, But we know that isnt so. Please hold her in your arms dear Lord, And treasure her with care. Make up for all she suffered And all she had to bear. Please whisper in her ear, In case she does not hear, How much we truly loved her, and wished she were still here. Loving you, your husband and sons.
