PETER PHILIP RACZENKO With family by his side, Peter, beloved father, husband, and son and brother died January 31, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer. Left to mourn his loss are his two children, Alexandra and Nicholas; his loving wife Donna; Peters mother Jean; his brother Alex of Calgary, AB; his sister Laura Chlopecki (Derrick) brother-in-law Rick Small (Debbie) sister-in-law Debbie Painter (Dave) and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and very dear friends. Peter was born in Braunschweig, Germany and came to Canada at the age of five. He attended the University of Winnipeg with a Bachelor of Arts and from there worked at the Bank of Montreal, Cambrian Credit Union where he made a lot of true and dear friends and then went on to Holy Spirit Credit Union and up until his passing worked at Decibel Credit Union as manager Member Services (now known as Vantis Credit Union). Peter loved camping at Blue Lake with his family and very close friends. He loved fishing and mushroom picking with his family. His greatest fulfilment was his children who remember their dad as their hero - a man of integrity, honesty and compassion. He loved taking his children to football games. The family wishes to thank friends and relatives for their comfort, support and assistance, and to all the staff at Concordia Oncology and 2nd floor. The family also wishes to thank Dr. Pat Harris for her dedication and support. Prayers will be at Holy Trinity Orthodoxy Church, 643 Manitoba. between 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 4. Funeral services will be held at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. on Wednesday, February 5 at 10:30 a.m. with Chaplain Gerhard Friesen officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Raczenko Childrens Trust Fund at Cambrian Credit Union , McLeod and Henderson. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
